New bike day This time Drew and I are building up a custom painted Trek Slash. She's a looker... We're in Drew's shop this time, "Barber Bike Shop." Drew has some killer tools and he actually knows how to use them properly. No jerry-rigged PVC-pipe headset race installers here. Nope.. nothing but the finest. We finish the build, and then I have to hop on a plane to Austria for Crankworx. Without this bike!! Brutal. Can't wait to get home and ride this thing. I've filmed some travel stuff while over here so look for that to be posted soon. Also, next week is finally time for the Utah footy on the Session. See y'all then, thanks for watching.

Cam McCaul knows a thing or two about this tagline, and being a local guy for us, it made him the perfect choice to execute this theme. Actually, we'd go anywhere to spend a day hanging out with Cam. In fact, we may even need to go down under and catch him in the new Nitro Circus tour this summer. This was our second ad shoot in just as many weeks and after a full day of shooting Cam, it was the last click of the day that was the money shot. The schedule included a morning shot, sand pit playtime, burritos at the local Taquería, a fresh bike build and the final afternoon shot. Cam's pimped out Trek Scratch that arrived late in the day, made its maiden voyage off this 45-foot gap. We had been shooting with the bike he used at Rampage all morning in anticipation of the Scratch's arrival, and it was worth the wait as Cam busted out not only the 'fly' shot, but pulled off some sick bar spins.

Trail Bike At The Dirt Jumps? Slopeduro

07.12.2019

The morning that we shot this Video Log, I put up a YouTube community post with a survey... I asked you which bike I should take to the dirt jumps. The majority of you chose my Trek Remedy over my Ticket DJ or Ticket S because I told you that I didn't feel like pushing my bike up the hill.. Y'all made a sick decision because this turned into a killer little session. On the trail bike, you take a run through, pop the dropper post up, click through those gears, and next thing you know you're back to the top of the line keeping the ride alive. John Reynolds joined along to hold "Cam's Dad Cam" and operate his flying robot camera. Tyler Roemer came along to snap the stills; then halfway through the session, a whole crew showed up... and I mean come on... Everyone knows dirt jumping is all about the big group szechuans. Dirt jumping on the trail bike takes a little getting used to, but once the bike is set up right and you get into the flow of things, its the best. You gotta be a little more aggressive with everything to keep the speed and throw the tricks, and you get to slash the corners if the opportunity arises. Its the best. Shred on amigos, don't forget to subscribe and leave a comment telling me any ideas you have for video logs. Ok Bye. -Cam Camera // John Reynolds Edit // Taylor Sage Bike: Trek Remedy with Fox Suspension, Shimano drivetrain, Bontrager wheels /tires /bar /stem etc.

I've always dreamed of having a backyard riding session with jumps... and while technically that hasn't happened, I think this is even better. There's a legit mountain bike riding scene bubbling up on a daily basis in the empty lot behind my neighborhood. Every time I look out my window I see helmeted heads popping into view as the local kids are catching air. On this day, we cruise up with the camera to catch the action. Neighbor-Nate-The-Ripper tackles some longtime goals (riding "the drop" and doubling "the rollers") and up-and-comer Ryan McNulty shows he's the next big thing since Carson Storch to come outta Bend Oregon. CHAPTER I takes place at a spot deep in the woods that I had been digging at by myself for years. The goal was always to finish building it so that one day I would have more stuff to ride in an area that riding spots are becoming few and far between, but also so that I could film and shoot photos on it. Year after year it never materialized and became a huge monkey on my back to finish it, until my impending move to Utah last month forced me to buckle down on the shovel all winter and get it done. This video is a look at my first and last hits at this spot I had slaved on for years before I packed up and left California for the Utah desert. As Street as I Get... Brought My Ramp

So... I have this ramp. It's been sitting in my garage for a while. Every time I look at it, I think, "you know... I should really go have some fun with this thing." Knowing that the ramp is sitting in the garage just begging for a little attention, I've had no choice but to daydream about possible setups all over town as I drive around. So the day finally came.. Dusty Wygle and I decided to load the ramp into the truck and drive around to a couple of the spots I've had in mind. The first setup ended up being WAY sketchier than I had anticipated... Like way sketchier. But it still worked! So from there it was back into the truck with the ramp and on to the next spot. A trail bike and a portable ramp... that's about as street as I get. Both spots provided some real good times. Now that I know what this ramp is all about, the daydream continues and I'm sure I'll find some more spots soon. Thanks for watching! Lining the wall of my garage is a collection of 11 Trek Ticket-S frames. I've held onto these frames over the years because they represent so many memories. When I walk through the garage it's like they're screaming those memories at me. After years of ignoring the screams, I decided to take some time to listen to what they had to say. This video is a trip down memory lane reminiscing the years from 2004 to 2014 with the help of archival footage from old video segments and contests. Huge thank you to Andrew Shandro and everyone at Trek in 2004 for believing there was a future in the fringe discipline of mountain bike Slopestyle and for taking a chance on a scattered kid from California. It's crazy to think that these early prototypes evolved into the frame that riders like Brandon Semenuk, Brett Rheeder, and Emil Johansson would use to blow minds and push the sport to unthinkable levels. Also, thank you to all the film companies and event organizers who invited me on film trips and to competitions over these years. It was a crazy experience going through all this footage and I'm grateful to everyone who made it possible. A How-To Tutorial video! Because why not. Two things were happening.. I read some comments asking if I would do how-to videos and I realized that every time I'm at the trails or at the jumps, I get asked how to do a no-hander. A how-to Sui vid seemed like a good place to start. There's no point in trying to teach a trick unless you know a trick to the trick, so here I explain a little method to get good at pinching the seat with your knees. Because.... that's the trick to the trick. If you ain't pinching, you ain't Sui'ing. Pinching the seat with your knees can feel weird at first and it takes a little getting used to but once you have it dialed, not only can you do a no-hander off a jump, but its a good way to rest your hands on a long downhill section. Stand up, pinch the seat, loosen your grip and refresh those hands. Use the seat pinch for whatever you want.. If you wanna flip off your friends as you pass by, stand up, seat-pinch, flip the bird. It comes in handy in all different ways. You can learn this type of no-hander on any bike that has a seat. If you're on a dirt jump bike (hardtail, Slopestyle bike, etc) you're probably going to want to raise your seat quite a bit so the seat height is right around your knees. If you're on a trail bike or a downhill bike this whole process will probably be even easier because your seat height is probably already pretty high. In this vid I'm using my Trek Fuel EX. Yes I have it set up as a Slopeduro rig but all the same principles apply to whatever bike you're on... as long as it has a seat. If your bike doesn't have handlebars, and you're jumping it, congratulations, you're already doing no-handers and you don't need this video. Leave some comments below if you have any other ideas for future how-to videos. Also, if you're having trouble learning, let me know any other questions you may have and I'll see if I can help. Last but not least, consider clicking on that "subscribe" button because it's even easier to do than taking your hands off the handlebars while in the air on your mountain bike. Join the Vital MTB Gear Club - 🤍 When Cam McCaul said he rode a Trek Stache 29+ at Ray's Indoor MTB Park and realized how much fun the quirky monster-truck-like bike was, we decided to put him and the bike to the test. Could a rider as good as Cam actually do things like 360 a 29+ bike? Tailwhip it? What if he used a set of stairs as a ramp? Could he drag bars on the pavement? Could he pass a downhiller on it at a bike park? Can it be manualed? The answers lie in our 29+ Challenge video. Social Media Links Website: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍
