The Fill and Join tools are pretty similar in Blender, but they have some very important differences. This video talks a bit about the three types of filling you can do in Blender 2.8: Fill, Triangle Fill, and Grid Fill. It also shows the difference between the fill and join tools. 🤍 The Fill Grid tool, which was introduced in Blender 2.68 works wonders for quickly filling large patches of polygons. It is particularly useful for capping cylinders and for quickly filling gaps during the retopology process. You can use Grid Fill by selecting two border edgeloops of a whole and then running Grid Fill from the Faces menu (CTRL+F). In order for Grid Fill to work, each of the selected loops must have the same vertex count. In addition, the two connecting edge loops must also have the same vertex count.
When I was making a 3d Model I found it easier to make the hands, feet and head separate from the body and then connect them after. This video tutorial is how I connected two separate low poly meshes together. In this video I used the Iphone 12 Pro and its 'truedepth' front camera to get a 3D scan an awful head model I had. It worked better than the lidar, with better resolution and I was almost able to get a complete scan (obviously on a static object and not moving face/body). This sensor is available on earlier Iphones and Ipads as well. I used the highest resolution of 0.5 mm then show you in detail how to import, trim, edit and rotate the scan in Blender. I then centre the model and pivot point/origin and then use the remesh to change the polygons into quads, close holes and smooth and sculpt the shape, ready for use in low poly applications. Let me know if you would like any assistance or further videos, thanks for watching.

When you are modeling, you always want to maintain great topology and be very efficient with face / triangle counts. This is particularly important when making models for games. Here is a quick tip on how to fill open edge loops like those found on the end of cylinders, in Blender. Note: You can use the Offset value in the Grid Fill operator to spin the way the faces run if that matters to you. Blender 2.72b brysonjack.com

Learn how to easily create and modify a collision between objects in Blender using Rigid Body Physics. 0:00 - Creating the scene 1:22 - The Timeline panel 1:50 - Adding Rigid Body Physics 3:16 - Adding Bounciness to collisions 4:26 - Altering orientation to change collisions RIGID BODY PHYSICS This is used in Blender to have objects bounce off one another without deforming. Select an object, go to the Physics Properties tab within the Properties panel and select the Rigid Body button. Do this for any objects that are to collide within the scene. By default, all objects with Rigid Body Physics applied to them will fall under gravity. To view this, simply tap the space bar to begin the animation. Opening the Timeline panel allows for this playback to be manually controlled. To have an object interact but not fall under gravity, change its Type from Active to Passive within the Physics Properties tab. BOUNCINESS The Surface Response section contains a Bounciness value. For Bounciness to have an effect on the interaction between two objects it needs to be added to both objects. ROTATION A collision can also be dramatically altered by the orientation of objects relative to one another. To change the rotation of a selected object, press the R key, move the mouse and press the mouse button to commit the change.
